When do we have to start using UC Recruit for our recruitments?

Beginning July 2013, all departments, centers, institutes, and organized research units will be required to conduct academic recruitments using UC Recruit.

What titles are covered by UC Recruit?

All academic titles--professor series, lecturers, academic coordinators, specialists, project scientists, researchers.

How do I request access to use UC Recruit?

How will the search committee members receive access to review applicants?

Department Recruit analysts are responsible for assigning members to the search committee. Once assigned, the search committee members will sign in using their UCSBnetID and UCSBnetPassword at: https://recruit.ap.ucsb.edu.

Will we continue to use the paper form Academic Recruitment Packet?

No. As of September 1, 2015 the Academic Recruitment Packet (Part I paper process) is no longer being used. For Academic recruitments, use UC Recruit, found here: https://recruit.ap.ucsb.edu/.

How do I create a recruitment that is Open Until Filled and has an Initial Review Date?

To create a recruitment that is Open Until Filled, when creating a new Recruitment Plan, in the Dates section simply click the Intial Review Date/Open Until Filled button. Establish the Open date, the Initial Review Date, and a Final date. Please note that you can push out the Final date as needed in order to allow for multiple Review dates.

How do I extend the deadline date of an Open Until Filled recruitment?

After a Review date passes, a department analyst may navigate to the recruitment and click the Edit button next to the Dates section. The analyst may then enter a new Review and/or Final date. The analyst should then click the Save Changes button.

How do I create a pooled (multiple positions available) recruitment?

In the Recruitment Name field, enter the title of the position, then add (Multiple Positions Available).

  • Set the Open Date to be July 1st
  • Set the Close Date to be June 30th
  • Set the Final Date to be June 30th
